Numerous people are believed to be dead in mass shootings in Maine, as an entire town has been told to shelter in place.

The shelter-in-place order also caused the town's school district to close. Scripps News reporter Chris Conte also reported that most local businesses were closed as the manhunt continued. People in the nearby town of Lisbon are also being asked to shelter in place after a vehicle of interest was located in the area.

The Central Maine Medical Center said the hospital was reacting to a mass casualty event. The hospital said it was working with other area medical facilities to take in patients.
