JOHOR BARU: Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar paid a courtesy call on the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, and Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Shah in Kuala Lumpur Saturday (Oct 28).

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 106 undocumented migrants were detained following a raid at the Kuala Lumpur wholesale market.

The raid, codenamed Ops Taring Nyah II, was conducted jointly by the police's General Operations Force and Federal Reserve Unit as well as the Immigration Department at about 4.30am on Saturday . GOF Central Brigade commander Senior Asst Comm Zulkifli Jonit said the raiding team detained 19 Bangladeshis, 28 Indonesians, 46 Myanmar nationals, and 13 Indian nationals during the raid.

"They failed to produce any valid identification documents,” he said in a statement on Saturday ."Those detained have been handed over to the Immigration Department. "They were detained for various offences including under Section 6 and Section 6 of the Immigration Act 1959," he added."We urge the public to supply information on suspicious activities or the presence of illegal immigrants in their respective areas.to our Premium Plan for an ad-free and unlimited reading experience!
