When Danna Diaz first felt it, she didn’t think anything of it. She was a busy working mum breastfeeding two kids under the age of two so she assumed the tiny lump in her chest was nothing more than a blocked milk duct or common hormonal changes.
How mum’s cancer diagnosis led to idea. The mum, from NSW, didn’t know it then but the lump was the first warning sign that a large tumour was growing inside her breast and was spreading to a number of lymph nodes. Her world was upended when scans and biopsy revealed she had stage three breast cancer. “I felt paralysed and in a state of shock,” Danna, now 38, tells 7Life.
