A 100-year-old home is up for sale in Sydney’s south, but comes with a few interesting backyard details for potential buyers. The historic home in Brighton-Le-Sands was built in 1919 and has only been on the market once before. Joseph Galea from LJ Hooker sold the property to its current owners, who have had it for 25 years, and is the listing agent on its current sale. Both 11 England St and 13 England St are up for sale, as both fall under the same deceased estate.
“They had the fear of god in them,” Galea said. “It never got used.” The property at 13 England St also has a similar ‘bungalow’ structure, but is built from timber. The two properties together would make for a spectacular backyard, but there’s one more catch. The backyard is also partly RTA-affected, as part of a now-abandoned 1950s expressway project.
