Carbon dioxide and working in a confined space are top safety concerns for the industry, says WorkSafe BC.

B.C.’s craft beer industry is hopping, but the rapid growth has been accompanied by an increase in workplace accidents.

Between 2008 and 2017, the agency says 11 people died from confined space incidents across all industries. The agency has developed new safety resources designed specifically for the brewery industry, including a guide for employers and workers in the industry, posters on how to manage the risks of carbon dioxide exposure, and a video highlighting how the Red Truck Beer Company approaches safety.
