A friend of the family members killed when a car drove through the beer garden of a Victorian pub has revealed she found out the tragic news from “a screenshot”. Melbourne lawyer Pratibha Sharma, her partner Jatin Chugh and Pratibha’s nine-year-old daughter Anvi, along with their friend Vivek Bahtia and his 11-year-old son Vihaan, were killed when a BMW hit patrons at the Royal Hotel beer garden in Daylesford on Sunday.

Friends remember the victims of the horrific Daylesford crash. Bahtia’s 36-year-old wife and other son, aged six, were also injured and both remain in a stable condition in hospital. On Tuesday, close friend Dr Sonia Singh said she at first thought the news was “a prank” when she was told. “I got a screenshot from a friend just saying that something like this has happened and is that your friend Pratibha?” Singh told Sunrise. “And I was like, this is a prank.
