It took the boss to meet two guide dogs and their owners to know it was the right choice

Guide Dogs NI have been chosen as the new charity partner by a business that could pump hundreds of thousands of pounds into their vital work.

Now with a two-year partnership in place, Maxol aims to support the Guide Dogs NI by increasing the awareness and impact of their work and funding the £54,800 it takes to breed, train and care for each of at least six of these special dogs over the course of their working lives. This includes doing things that most people take for granted such as going shopping, attending college or work, having a social life and travelling can present enormous challenges.

“Before I lost my sight I could drive. Now, thanks to Guide Dogs NI, Micky is my new travel companion. He loves travelling with me to Donegal to see family. He’s even been to Switzerland, Spain, France and Bristol.”
