Three years after breaking itself up, struggling Avon is considering putting the company back together through a sale to Brazilian rival Natura

Three years after splitting itself apart, Avon Products Inc. has been considering a deal that would put the company back together, according to a person familiar with the matter.

Amid continuing sales struggles, directors of the cosmetics company have discussed a sale to Brazilian rival Natura & Co., the person said. The talks include a scenario in which Natura would acquire Avon’s North American business, now a separate, private company, in addition to the publicly traded Avon that operates elsewhere around the world.
