Pharmacies in England are struggling with chronic underfunding, leading to eight closures a week. Since 2015, there has been a net loss of 1,055 pharmacies, with over 300 closures in the current financial year alone.
The CEO of the Company Chemists' Association (CCA) states that the funding for supplying NHS medicines and services has not changed since 2016, causing pharmacies to struggle amidst the Covid pandemic and cost-of-living crisis.
