Skyview 21 gives a birds-eye view of the fire that burned for more than six hours on Feb. 15 in Lancaster County. The incessant flames required more than 45 stations across three counties to help put it out. According to officials on Thursday, considering how large the fire at Martin's Country Market was, they were "fortunate" to only report one injury.Still, the market owners are processing the loss.
“It’s obvious we won’t be selling anything out of the building until we get the chance to evaluate the damage," said Nevin Martin, president of Martin’s Country Market. Officials said the fire erupted around 4 a.m. on Thursday. Upon arriving at work, an employee smelled the smoke and called 911. Officials also said the market’s alarm system alerted the local fire department.
Gockley says the roof is made of metal and is lined with rubber, which is what fed the fire for more than six hours.
