The properties housing the longtime store and its neighbor, Antiquarian Book Mart, were both purchased by a local developer late last year.A sign posted on the shop’s door confirmed the closure and urged local bookworms to visit the Dallas-based company's four other area locations to get their read on. The shop — located at 3207 Broadway, along a fast-developing part of the major north-south thoroughfare — has been in continuous operation since 1978.
Harper/Huddleston Inc. also purchased the Antiquarian Book Mart next door to Half Price Books as well as the parking lot behind the two buildings.
