Nine local businesses have been named by the Department for Business and Trade after failing to pay staff the minimum wage

Nine Nottinghamshire companies which failed to pay some of their staff the minimum wage have been named. The Department for Business and Trade has shared a lengthy list of more than 500 businesses across the UK that failed to pay thousands, or in some cases millions, of pounds that employees were entitled to.

"Staffline would like to clarify that these are historic breaches and related to the period 2013 to 2018. Remedial actions taken in 2019 and formally concluded with HMRC to their complete satisfaction in 2020. The company, which used to be based in the city centre, dissolved on October 20, 2022. Center Parcs Limited in Newark was the next one on the list, failing to pay £5,293.94 to nine workers.

Blades Restaurants Ltd, based in the city centre, failed to pay £4,257.68 to 184 workers. Blades Restaurants operates a group of franchised McDonald’s restaurants in Nottingham. Docmar Limited, a homecare service provider based in Mansfield, failed to pay £1,908.89 to 13 workers. A spokesperson said: "The incident happened seven years ago and got investigated five years ago.
