A tribal administrator is accused of embezzling money from the Curyung Tribal Council, according to a criminal complaint from Superior Court in Dillingham.

After an internal audit, Gayla Hoseth, the tribe’s first chief, notified Dillingham police about the suspected embezzlement and provided authorities with five checks totaling over $77,000 — ranging individually from $600.96 to $32,000 — that were made out for dates between October 2023 and February 2024.
