Passengers saw a turbulent week aboard Boeing aircrafts after a string of failures involving the company’s passenger jets.

On Thursday, a tire fell off during take-off from San Francisco aboard a Boeing 777-200, although it was able to make an emergency landing in Los Angeles. A different flight had a tire come off the nose gear last month. Those instances are strictly airline maintenance issues. They are not Boeing issues,” Hamilton said of the tires coming off. “We don't know why the wheels came off, we just know they came off."

The incidents are not linked to known issues with Boeing and its 737 Max, according to Hamilton, but they come as the airplane maker struggles to improve its safety image.
