Image of "For Sale" sign up at "The Singing Barber" shop in Seattle after its second break-in within a year. The "For Sale" signs in front of "The Singing Barber" shop in Seattle have multiple meanings.

“ smashed in doors, my door frame I just priced that out. That is like over a thousand, two thousand if I get the frame also replaced on that,” said Wigfall.“If you act nonchalant and apathetic about the stuff that’s going on here, you will lose neighbors, you will lose business, you will lose revenue, your property value goes down, and it becomes a ghost town,” Wigfall said, citing problems that businesses have had in the downtown core.

“To not be afraid to address issues with people they see that are causing problems in the neighborhood, but also to put pressure on Dan Strauss, making sure it stops and also the police department being more responsive to stuff,” Wigfall said.Like so many community members, I was saddened to hear about the Singing Barber being broken into this weekend. Stories like theirs are heartbreaking, and it’s why I have fought so hard to bring new public safety funding directly to Ballard.
