CLEVELAND, Ohio - The merger between Cedar Fair and Six Flags is well on its way following a Six Flags stockholder approval vote earlier this week. The next steps in the process will see the Department of Justice examine whether or not the merger should happen based on antitrust concerns. Case Western Reserve University Professor of Law Eric Chaffee believes that the merger will eventually be approved, with some concessions needed.
“It’s likely this merger will move forward. At most we would see the selling off of a few properties and a reconfiguration of what the company would look like based on what the government would require”, Chaffee said. 19 News reached out to both Cedar Fair and Six Flags for comment on the merger vote, and as of this story being published have not heard back.3 confirmed dead in Logan County after severe weather rips through central Ohio
