LANGKAWI: Dr Mahathir Mohamad today officiated the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2019, some 28 years after first launching the inaugural edition of the biannual event.
Now, Mahathir said, Malaysia’s aerospace industry has grown to the point that the country is known for its products used by international companies including Airbus, Boeing, Rolls-Royce, Safran, Honeywell and Thales. Moving forward, he said, the defence ministry is preparing the first ever defence white paper, aimed at informing the public of the ministry’s priorities and plans.
