Fremantle defender Karl Worner has been concussed in a sickening clash during Sunday’s win over Brisbane. It was the first of a triple blow for the Dockers, who also lost Oscar McDonald and Brennan Cox to injury, but managed to defeat the highly fancied Lions by 23 points. Worner was attempting to take an intercept mark after a quick kick from the centre when he crashed straight into Lion Lincoln McCarthy, who was coming from the other side.

The Lions kicked the opening four goals, but Fremantle piled on the next eight to secure the 14.9 to 10.10 win in front of 40,604 fans. Jye Amiss and Josh Treacy were superb in attack for Fremantle, while Caleb Serong racked up a club-record 46 disposals to go with 10 clearances.
