A person has died and four other people, including two firefighters, have been taken to hospital following a house fire in Townsville. The house was fully alight when fire crews, ambulance and police were called to the property on Clayton St, Hermit Park about 11.15pm on Tuesday.
Townsville fatal house fire. Two neighbours had gone inside to try to help someone but had to be rescued themselves when they were injured, Queensland Fire and Emergency Services Acting Inspector Corrie Benson said. They were taken to Townsville Hospital with minor burns and cuts. After being told someone was inside the home, firefighters thoroughly searched the property and found a body. They have not yet been identified.
