MONTGOMERY, Ala. - William Michael Watson, a Montgomery native, architect, and business owner, has died. He was 72.
Watson, who was best known as “Mike,” was a member of the inaugural graduating class of Jefferson Davis High School in 1969 where he served as senior class president. He attended Auburn University where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and received a degree from the School of Architecture.
Watson was well known in downtown Montgomery as the founder, owner, and operator of the Aviator Bar, a WWII aviation themed bar that opened in December of 2012. “He not only paved the way for success in our community but also served as a beacon of inspiration for fellow entrepreneurs. His commitment to fostering growth and providing opportunities for others was unparalleled, leaving an indelible mark on our community.
