The fifth-generation Mini Cooper range will arrive in Australia later this year, priced from $41,990 plus on-road costs in petrol guise and from $53,990 before on-roads for the electric versions according to database Redbook. Base pricing for the 3-Door Hatch is up around $2700 compared to the previous generation for the base petrol variant, though the base price for the electric range has dropped by nearly $2000. Cooper C models come with a 115kW/230Nm 1.
Zero to 100km/h takes a claimed 7.3 seconds, and WLTP driving range is quoted at 305km. The flagship Cooper SE ups power to 160kW and 330Nm for a 6.7-second dash to triple figures, while the li-ion battery gets a bump in capacity to 54.2kWh. Claimed WLTP range is 402km. By comparison, the old Cooper SE offered 135kW/270Nm from its front-mounted e-motor and quoted a measly 222km on the older NEDC test cycle from its 32.6kWh li-ion battery.
