Clubs editor Emma Johnson chats to 909 Presents promoter Stuart Hodson to find out what the club night has in store this year.

And over the last decade promoter Stuart Hodson has been doing his best to help keep us dancing to their tunes with 909 Presents. It may essentially be looking to cater for a demographic that is not being served, but that doesn’t mean everyone on the 909 dancefloor is old enough to remember dial-up internet. “We have 20-year-olds, 25-year-olds, they are all in there,” explains Stuart. “It’s a real mixture. Especially the techno nights. They do like their techno.”

“He plays the best kind of techno,” says Stuart of the Brighton-born DJ and producer who is celebrating the 30th anniversary of his seminal Archive One album with a global tour and boxset edition, and has just released his RED 2 EP digitally for the first time. “The Henry Saiz summer parties are always pretty special,” says Stuart. “He is known for his long terrace sets, five – six hours. Not many DJs can hold your attention for that length of time, but he does. He plays everything from techno to trance, house, progressive... and he has got that rapport with our fans.”
