Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Many Star Wars characters are perfectly cast, but several actors in the Star Wars galaxy would have played different roles just as brilliantly. Throughout Star Wars' movies and TV shows, numerous actors have fully embodied the characters they portrayed. However, many of the same actors, some of whom are among Star Wars' most powerful Jedi, have expressed interest in playing different characters too.

Moreover, Ewan McGregor has even indicated that he would have been interested in playing Han Solo. Although he also said he would have liked to play Luke Skywalker, Han Solo is clearly the better fit for McGregor. Even as the wise, respected Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, Ewan McGregor couldn't hide his charming comedic side.

Pascal's acting chops alongside his clear ability to emote effectively under a mask make him a perfect fit for Darth Vader. Of course, this would have brought a very different energy to Anakin, too. Whereas Hayden Christensen's portrayal of Anakin has more simmering anger and sinister lines, Adam Driver's Kylo Ren included more out-and-out screaming and fits of rage. However, this would have been a fun interpretation of Anakin to see and surely would have contributed to the notion that as he went further to the dark side, Anakin became less and less in touch with reality.

However, this means that Mark Hamill would have made an excellent Qui-Gon Jinn in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace. The tranquil, masterful older Jedi that audiences were hoping to see in the sequels matches perfectly with the personality of Qui-Gon Jinn in the first prequel movie. It also would have been fun to see an older Luke Skywalker engaged in lightsaber battles, and given those were missing in the sequels, Qui-Gon Jinn would have been a great alternative.

This also would have given Carrie Fisher a chance to portray a character with more screen time actively engaged in politics. Although Leia did go on to become an incredible senator—ironically like her mother, although she didn't know it—most of that happened off-screen between the original and sequel trilogies. As Padmé, Carrie Fisher could have fully shown off her wisdom and courage.
