The owner of the hand-built TLX Type S PMC Edition said he bought the car as an investment with the MSRP listed at $63,995

This TLX Type S PMC Edition, #44 of only 100 produced, was intended as an investment by the seller and has only been driven 5 miles. Despite the car's pristine condition and limited production, the highest bid of $52,000 did not meet the seller's reserve price. The original MSRP for the hand-built TLX Type S was $63,995. With the TLX Type S and Integra Type S, Acura has two exhilarating and desirable performance models available to shoppers in the U.S.

Considering the seller's statement that the car was acquired as an investment rather than a daily driver, it's reasonable to assume that they aimed to at least recoup their initial investment, if not turn a profit. Cars&Bids stated that while they weren’t quite able to close the gap on this TLX Type S, they would facilitate communication between the seller and the highest bidder to attempt to make a deal. https://youtu.
