A Commonwealth Bank customer has warned others about cybersecurity after what they say could have been an attempted hack. The customer tried to log in to their account on Monday about 11.30pm but could not gain access. They had entered the correct password and account number, but something was wrong. “Neither my password nor my pin was correct,” the customer said. “I haven’t changed both of these since I opened the account in 2018 — which now I’m thinking is not a good practice.
” Asking for advice The customer made a social media post about the incident, asking for advice. They considered sending all their money to a friend’s account, but were urged not to. Social media users told the customer to contact CommBank immediately. “It’s important are made aware of this ASAP,” one person said. Some said there was probably a simple explanation for the login issues. “What’s more likely is just their app was playing up when you tried to log in,” one person said.
