Two men possibly missing, another two injured in boat accident at Runaway Bay on Gold Coast waters

A man is in an coma with “substantial” injuries after he crashed a boat on the Gold Coast. And police who are urgently trying to determine if other people need rescuing have as yet been unable to establish how many people were on board the tinnie when it crashed. The boat crashed into a marine marker on Runaway Bay about 5am on Friday.

” The captain saw the injured boatie and killed the boat’s transmission. He has towed the boat to the nearby South Currigee campground on Stradbroke Island, where campers have given the man first aid. Paramedics treated him for “substantial” injuries before taking him to Gold Coast University Hospital, where he has been placed in an induced coma. The man who was ejected from the boat swam to the mainland. He has been taken to hospital in a stable condition.
