Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin has been accused of not taking head knocks seriously after a comment following his side’s win over Adelaide on Thursday night. The Demons held off a fast-finishing Crows to win by 15 points, but will be sweating on the match review officer’s assessment of an incident involving Kysaiah Pickett in the second quarter.

Goodwin comments on Pickett bump. Pickett jumped up high in an attempt to smother a handball from Crow Jake Soligo and as he landed, his upper arm made contact with Soligo’s face. Soligo briefly went to ground, but was able to quickly get to his feet and the umpire paid a free kick down the field. The incident had some similarities to that of Brayden Maynard on Angus Brayshaw in last year’s qualifying final, although clearly didn’t have has much force.
