The event raised over $10,000, more than 10x the amount from the year previous; 3rd annual event on May 24

Last May, a Kelowna fundraising golf tournament saw a ten times increase, compared to the inaugural event, benefiting a local Make-A-Wish child.

“We challenged ourselves to raise enough funds to grant one wish with the tournament funds,” said CES Kelowna district manager James Cookson. “We all love the organization, so it was a great goal for us, and the funds raised helped contribute to granting wishes in our local community.”“Make-A-Wish sent a girl and her sister to Disneyland for a week,” added Cookson. “We brought them a bunch of toys, and they even had their own plane and hotel. The kids were so excited to go.

“There are so many moving parts in an event like this,” said Cookson. “We had around 110 people attend our first year. It takes a bit to grow, and we learned a lot about collecting, getting everyone together, and assigning tasks. I’d say it was challenging, but it was also fun.”
