Why Buhari must split Power, Works and Housing ministry in 2nd Term – Expert vanguardngr.com vanguardnews

At an agenda-setting news conference for the second term of the president in Abuja, Mr Adebayo said merging the three ministries was a mistake, the consequence of which he said is reflected in Nigeria’s increasing housing deficit as well as the under-performance of the administration in the areas of power, works and housing.“President Muhammadu Buhari must as a matter of urgency split the Ministry of Power, Works and Housing. The merger is not working.

According to him, the scheme which is still in its infancy has already delivered 700 housing units in Masaka, Nasarawa state, just few kilometres from Abuja, the nation’s capital. The highest cost of the house is N4.5 million, meaning the one bedroom is within the range of N2 million, 2bedroom N2.5 million, 3bedroom 3.5 million. You only pay 50 per cent and the other 50 per cent will be acquired through mortgage.

“The difference between the National Housing Programmes where the Minister has been building houses ‎in all the states of the federation and family homes fund is affordability. It is not on ground to duplicate‎ what thr FMBN is doing but to complement it. The area that FMBN cannot reach, then, the Family Homes Fund comes in,” Adebayo said.

vanguardngr Same reason why we must have home and away presorident

vanguardngr I think he should merge more.

vanguardngr I agree, Buhari should split that beast of 3-in-1 ministry I recall that tundefashola was 1 of the 1st to embrace & solidly support the MBuhari presidential project in 2014 & so deserves a big job but the reality is Power & Works portfolios require round the clock attention

vanguardngr President Buhari must assign some1 like Nasir el-Rufai to minister to our Power needs & complete Mambilla, Zungeru, etc, while BRF concentrates on the Works aspect If Buhari really hopes to resolve the power issues in this country, he should be reminded that he has ONLY 4 yrs

vanguardngr I'm sure el-Rufai will quit KD gov job, take on the Ministry of Power job & break the back of the saboteurs He'll also make history by giving Dr Hadiza the opportunity to become the 1st woman gov in the North Buhari must assemble a killer team this time & get ALL the job done

vanguardngr It's more than necessary, those ministries are not for one man if we really need quick results, Fashola is a workaholic I have enormous respect for his diligence and dedication but must separate those ministries, Nigerians have waited enough we need speed in this administration
