Industry and Science Minister Ed Husic scolded Israel for the deaths of seven aid workers including one Australian calling it a reflection of 'systemic failure' within the Israeli government to 'genuinely commit' to and adhere international humanitarian law during the war in Gaza.

Industry and Science Minister Ed Husic has slammed the Israeli government for failing to differentiate between combatants and civilians after the seven aid workers were killed in an airstrike in Gaza last week, including one Australian.

Mr Husic said the Israeli government has not differentiated between combatants and civilians and said it was a"systemic problem" in their military. Mr Husic said it was not a"small thing" and the concerns which have arisen as a result of the conflict have sprung from Israel's observance of international humanitarian law.

When asked on what the aftermath of a ceasefire would look like, Mr Husic said it was something the government had supported since December along with 152 other countries. "I think there's another element to this as well, the other element is where is the Coalition on this?" he said.
