Winx continues to set records five years after her retirement. The champion mare won a staggering 37 of 43 starts, including a world record 25 Group 1s and four Cox Plates. Now her foal has fetched a staggering $10 million at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale in Sydney, smashing the previous records. The 18-month filly, sired by Coolmore Stud’s champion stallion Pierro, will remain in Australia after being bought by Debbie Kepitis and her Woppitt Bloodstock.

” Bidding started at $2 million before quickly flying up and eventually reaching $10 million. It smashed the previous world record for a yearling filly, which was $8.9 million in 2013, while it obliterated the Australian record of $2.6 million. Hall of Fame trainer Chris Waller, who worked with Winx, has been chosen to train the filly. Winx captivated the nation with an extraordinary career that included a streak of 33 consecutive wins. She amassed a staggering $26 million in prize money.
