Four people will be sentenced after a NSW man’s Tinder date with a woman led to his brutal and fatal stabbing during a bungled robbery at his home. Luke Lembryk was stabbed multiple times during an August 2019 home invasion and left to die in the arms of his mother, who was severely ill with cancer at the time, in their western Sydney home. Joseph Nehme was found guilty of murder and assault with intent to rob in company on Monday after a NSW Supreme Court jury deliberated for four hours.

Prosecutors did not argue the men went to the home intending to killing Lembryk, rather that they only did so when he refused to hand over the money. Jurors were told the members of the group were part of the same joint criminal enterprise and each foresaw the robbery could lead to grievous bodily harm. In January, after a separate trial, a jury handed down guilty verdicts against Taufahema, Price and a third co-accused, Bilal Rahim.
