DIY edibles are safer than turning to the black market, Canadian cannabis candy kit-maker says

, lets users customize cannabis edibles by determining the strength and dosage for themselves. The kits, which cost $19.99, come with everything needed to make the candies—besides the marijuana. Users are encouraged to purchase cannabis oil from a legal source in order to design their custom edibles.

The legal parameters outlining the sale of edibles will be released by the government no later than Oct. 17, 2019—and experts say there will be many hoops to jump through before these products can grace store shelves. “Dosing is never going to be 100 per cent as our bodies react differently to cannabinoids, and what we ate or drank can influence how it affects us. But the weird way in which cannabis edible ‘portions’ have evolved on the black market makes it easy to screw up.”
