The cost-of-living and rental crisis just seems to go from bad to worse. In a bid to help others navigate these tough times, a young Aussie entrepreneur has shared the saving rules she lives by. Brisbane-based Téa Angelos, 27, is a money expert and the founder and CEO of Smart Women Society, an online community that helps women become “smarter with money, careers, wellbeing and their love lives”. “My biggest tip to make saving easy is to automate your savings,” Angelos tells 7Life.

Many women love beauty products and tend to splurge on personal care but Angelos suggests “opting for DIY treatments, buying products on sale and reducing the frequency of expensive treatments”. The budget expert is also super savvy when it comes to shopping, saying it’s all about choosing classic pieces that don’t go out of fashion quickly, and opting for quality over quantity. “Additionally, buying secondhand, hiring or swapping clothes with friends can be both fun and save money,” she says.
