Imagine if all of South Africa’s over one million tonnes of unrecycled plastic waste could create thousands of jobs.
JOHANNESBURG - South Africa creates and uses over one million tonnes of unrecycled plastic waste which can be used to help build community assets.A new technology launching soon aiming to help turn any plastic into durable cement that can be used in the construction industry. The Eco Arena CEO Don Thompson said he wants to use plastics that people don't use and turn them into an asset. The company uses plastic in a ground-up state and combines them with additional materials to turn it into a sandlike material and make into cement.
Thompson said,"it's a very good end of life for plastic that typically was not going to get recycled."
There is no excuse for such human waste. We need to rethink what we are purchasing.
