Two men are in hospital with critical injuries after they were struck by a car on a Sydney highway on Friday. The pair, aged in their 20s, were crossing Hume Hwy in Yagoona, in the city’s southwest, about 4am when they were taken out, sustaining serious head and leg injuries.
Pedestrians hit on Hume Highway. Despite using a pedestrian crossing, they did not have a right-of-way because the lights were green for oncoming traffic. Security cameras showed a van narrowly avoid them before they were collected and badly hurt by a Toyota HiLux. Bakery worker Sandy Cran feared they were dead. “They move anything. Very bad,” she told 7NEWS. Paramedics took one of the men to Liverpool Hospital and the other to St George Hospital. Both were in a critical condition.
