Shadow infrastructure minister Bridget McKenzie has labelled the Albanese government's spending plans ahead of the upcoming Budget"simply not good enough," claiming it was prioritising the wrong areas for investment.Shadow infrastructure minister Bridget McKenzie has called out Treasurer Jim Chalmers for prioritising the wrong areas for investment in the upcoming Budget, labelling the government's plans"simply not good enough.
Speaking to Sky News Australia on Sunday, Senator McKenzie echoed those warnings, adding the RBA's"only other lever" to address persistent inflation was to put more pressure on employment. "The only other lever available to the RBA, according to economists is that they're going to have to look at the jobs market, and you know what that means."
The shadow infrastructure minister argued critical infrastructure would do more to boost productivity, which experts have said must urgently lift to avoid wage growth becoming inflationary, as well as help to solve housing costs driven by higher migration.
