A week after merger rumors between Viacom and CBS surfaced again, RBC Capital Markets analyst Steven Cahall thinks investors should own both stocks.

A week after merger rumors between Viacom and CBS surfaced again, an analyst at RBC Capital Markets thinks investors should play both sides of the table and own both stocks.

CBS has yet to replace longtime CEO and Chairman Les Moonves, who resigned in September amidst sexual misconduct allegations, which he denies. Viacom CEO Robert Bakish was the current frontrunner for the CBS job, the Post reported last week. “Viacom’s DirecTV deal was less contentious than thought, and we think [the pact] crystallizes its improved standing.
