Widespread gains defy predictions that bullish mood would soon end

Everyone’s waiting for this stock market to finally tire out, but the first quarter was the latest example of the market saying, “Not yet.” The average U.S.-stock fund had a total return of 13.3% in the first quarter, according to Thomson Reuters Lipper data. International-stock funds did nearly as well, on average, with a 10.8% total return.
