The son of an elderly Collingwood fan in hospital with a spinal injury has shared more details of the shocking incident that occurred outside the MCG on Friday night. Jessie Hatch, an 80-year-old grandmother, was leaving the ground after the Magpies’ thrilling win over Carlton when she was allegedly knocked over by a man on an e-scooter.

Grandmother in hospital after MCG incident. Jessie had just come off the courtesy cart near the train station when the man on the scooter refused to get out of the way. He then rode off but quickly turned around before allegedly hitting her from behind. “She walked between 7-10m away and this guy’s doubled back and then smashed her from behind,” son Ken told 7NEWS. “Apparently she stopped breathing for 20 seconds or so, that’s what we heard.
