Chick-fil-A might spark controversy, but its peers think it's an industry leader

The Chick-fil-A cows are one of the secrets to its success, a new poll shows. Lately, Chick-fil-A has made news over its controversial charitable contributions. But on Monday, it was in the spotlight because the fast food industry admires it.—a trade publication aimed at the fast-food and fast-casual restaurant industry—as the publication conducted its first-ever Readers Choice Poll on fast food brands and executives.

In writing about Chick-fil-A's win as most admired brand, the magazine said,"The Atlanta-based company is unwavering in its core values, impressively dedicated to its service model, and as tight-knit internally as a 2,400-unit restaurant company can possibly be."Runners-up in the most respected quick-service brand category were Starbucks and Whataburger, the Texas-based chain that QSR called"basically In-N-Out but without the cultish mainstream attention.

Runners-up in the CEO award category were Kevin Johnson of Starbucks and Kat Cole, the president and chief executive for North America at FOCUS Brands, which includes Carvel, Cinnabon and Moe's Southwest Grill.
