NEW YORK — U.S. stocks are ticking higher as last week’s rush of market-moving events gives way to what could be a quieter week. The S&P 500 was up 0.5% early Monday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 164 points, and the Nasdaq composite was up 0.5%. Berkshire Hathaway rose after Warren Buffett’s company reported its latest results over the weekend.
Later this week, Walt Disney Co., Airbnb, Anheuser-Busch and Uber issue their latest sales and profit reports. Early Monday, benchmark U.S. crude rose 62 cents to $78.73 a barrel in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. Brent crude, the international standard, climbed 52 cents to $84.48 a barrel.
