A Kenton man has admitted to dumping thousands of gallons of hazardous substances into the Scioto River, killing more than 40,000 fish.

CLEVELAND, Ohio –

A local fisherman in Hardin County reported the dead fish in the river to authorities. The area in which the dumping occurred is routinely used for recreational fishing. In 2009, a water quality sample from the site of the fish kill was listed as “generally high-quality water,” according to the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency.
