The S&P 500 closed 0.36% higher today, marking its 9th day of gains in 10 days. Tech, real estate, consumer discretionary and energy stocks were among the best performers.

The S&P 500 rose slightly on Wednesday, as the Federal Reserve reaffirmed that it would keep rates unchanged this year.

"A majority of participants expected that the evolution of the economic outlook and risks to the outlook would likely warrant leaving the target range unchanged for the remainder of the year," the minutes said. "We've agreed that both sides will establish enforcement offices that will deal with the ongoing matters," Mnuchin said.
