Students have protested in Melbourne calling for universities to cut ties with companies linked to Israel.Universities across the city continue to urge students to disperse encampments on their campuses.

Earlier, students from an encampment at Melbourne's RMIT campus held a press conference and urged the university to cut ties with companies working with Israel. At Melbourne University, hundreds of protesters occupied the Arts West Building, unfurling banners and flags. Organisers at the Deakin encampment told the ABC on Tuesday they would not be complying with the university's requests.
