Is autocorrect racist? The campaign to get tech giants to stamp out ethnic name bias on phones, computers

Having your name mangled by autocorrect when you type it into your phone or computer can be frustrating and time consuming.

Microsoft has recently changed some of its language to make it more gender-neutral, using terms such as "humanity" rather than "mankind", and "workforce" rather than "manpower".Elaine Laforteza, from the UTS Centre for Social Justice and Inclusion, leads the Say My Name initiative, which celebrates the diversity of workplaces and names that are deemed "tricky or unfamiliar or foreign within Anglo-Australian contexts".
