Collingwood big man Mason Cox was subbed out of his side’s AFL blockbuster with Fremantle after a sickening knee injury on Friday night. The 211cm giant flew for a mark inside the Magpies’ forward 50 and came down with a thud, landing on his back with the lower half of his right leg caught under him.
Mason Cox suffers cringe-worthy knee injury. Cox was in immediate pain as the knee bent beneath him unnaturally. He eventually extended it back out in front of him but remained on the ground for an extended moment while trainers rushed out to him. “His knee got caught up under him. It didn’t look nice, what happened there,” Matthew Richardson said on commentary. Brian Taylor added: “That is horrible.” Slow motion replays were cringe-worthy viewing as the 33-year-old fell on his own leg.
