Matildas striker Caitlin Foord’s terribly kept secret with Ireland skipper Katie McCabe is out of the bag after the pair effectively put rumours to bed. Speculation has been rife for about 12 months that the Arsenal teammates have been an item but they have both remained tight-lipped. With the Women’s Super League finished for the season, Foord and McCabe this month left for a holiday in Europe, stopping in Rome just before their trip to Melbourne to play against the A-League Women all-stars.
Another added: “You’ve just broken the internet again”. Rumours of the relationship began shortly after McCabe cut ties with former partner and Ireland teammate Ruesha Littlejohn just before last year’s World Cup in Australia. There was no love lost between Littlejohn and Foord when Australia played Ireland in their tournament opener at Sydney Olympic Park last year.
