Mr. Jacobs, a corporate cost-cutter with a weakness for monogrammed cuffs and Rolls-Royce cars, also operated and expanded companies, including a maker of leisure boats, a TV-shopping business and a door-to-door seller of spices.

Are you kidding me with this puff piece nonsense? “Stayed true to his working class roots”? Jacobs career was defined by greed, asset stripping and reckless disregard for the lives of the actual workers at the companies he raided and no folksy anecdotes can erase that legacy
