Clients of a Cape Town solar installation company say they are outraged by the"inexplicable" inaction of authorities after they paid tens of thousands of rands for solar panels and batteries they say were not delivered. Instead of speedily setting up solar power systems as promised, some clients of Sun Smart Solar and Hello Solar say the companies and their owner, Jonathan Stephenson, only delivered a litany of excuses, a refusal to pay refunds, and, in one case, threats.
But Stephenson has denied wrongdoing, telling News24 that he and his companies are preparing to"fight back" against the"false accusations" and"false media representation" that have stopped his business from growing as quickly as it could have.
